Hi all,

Greetings from the hot and sunny coastal town Hua Hin, perched ideally on the Gulf of Thailand and a happy, healthy new year to you all. This my base for Asian Tour School which begins this Wednesday 7th Jan at Imperial Lake View Golf Club. Play well there over 4 rounds and I will progress to final stage at the end of the month, which is held in Lake View and Springfield Golf Clubs.

Asian Tour School has become much tougher over the last few years with qualifying scores improving year on year. Traditionally Europeans have struggled with the heat and course conditions on this side of the world but with golf now being a worldwide sport players are more experienced and have a better understanding of the different grass types etc that we encounter on this side of the globe. That said, it is a challenge and hydration and food intake are serious factors in golfing out here.

I spent Christmas out here with my folks and while I didn’t practise every day I did keep my hand in. I’ve been ramping up my preparation in the last week so all going well I will be set for Wednesday. I’m 7 hours ahead of most of you so I may well be finished my rounds when you’re getting up. The weather out here has been terrific and it’s a great spot but I do miss home. All going well I will be back early February.
