Asian Tour School Success

Hi all,

Delighted to report that I have managed to win a place on the Asian Tour for 2015. Standards in world golf just seem to be rising and rising with no sign of a levelling off. A 10 under par total over 8 rounds split between Imperial Lake View and Royal Springfield golf courses in Hua Hin Thailand, was enough to get my hands on a potentially very lucrative card. Many thanks to everyone who took the time to follow my progress. Your encouragement really helps.

Of course plying my trade on the Asian Tour will mean quite a lot of travel in the coming months ,but golf has now become such a global game that a few extra hours on board planes won’t make a huge difference. I am really excited about visiting new places and playing new courses. I feel it will help me become a more rounded golfer particularly dealing with different type grasses and conditions.

I also hope to play plenty of golf in Europe this year. With my strong finish to 2014 I have a good ranking on the Challenge Tour where I will play at least 10-12 events. I am also guaranteed the BMW Championship at Wentworth and hope to be involved in The Irish Open at Royal County Down. Looking forward also to participating in the PGA Cup being held in California in September. The PGA Cup is a version of the Ryder Cup and follows the same format over 3 days. The prospect of playing some team golf really excites me as it’s a nice break from the mandatory singles we play week in week out. It will be the first time since my amateur days that I will get to do this.

I have a relatively quiet time now for a few weeks then a very busy schedule starts. Will be spending the next few weeks getting my fitness just right and putting a plan together for the year ahead. Many thanks again for all your support

Niall
